but at least I acknowledge it. I give you exhibit A.....
Not only did I finish my little "jumbled letter stamps" project, but I decorated the boxed too. Yes, I am fully aware I have way too much time on my hands.....but, I'm really just putting off the inevitable cleaning of the closets. I took this whole organization thing to levels not even Peter Walsh from Clean Sweep has seen. At one point I was sitting on the floor surrounded by a ton of paper scraps when Cosme walked in and asked what I was doing. I told him I was trying to figure out how to organize all my little bits of paper that I had. He said dump it all in a box. I looked at him like he was an idiot. "Huh...wha...dump it all in a box...Are you insane?" He walked away mumbling something about crazy and committed.......
I'm just a girl trying to regain control of her life through paper, glitter and ribbon organization. Now, the above picture caused me quite a bit of strife as I could not commit to a storage stategy. Should I sort by color......size....season.....It all got a bit much and I had to just walk away.....
Ahhhhh.....much better!
Those vintage wallpaper scraps? All very happy in their new labeled boxes. Stacks of scrapbook paper are tucked in next to it thoughtfully divided by type and color.
Polka dots get their own showcase box. Yes, I do play favorites with my paper.....
Paper sorting did not come any easier. Like, below, do I put the black and white polka dot in the black & white category, or in the polka dot category? That dilemma alone set me back an hour.......
Ahhhhhh....look at the endless possibilities with these beautiful papers......
Temp workers hired, had to be fired........
More crazy labeling......
Kaiser Permanente....by new BFF.......
Who's that cutie? Why it's my husband!
Another reason why temp workers were fired. He had his own idea of organization that clearly wasn't going to work in this craft room......
Fabric just waiting to be used......
I love my glitter......
Even though I still have some more clearing to do.....
I think I'm ready to do some fun Valentine Day projects!
Next post......how chemo has created my new obsession with food...

Karin, you did it!!! everything is all organized and pretty now:) i am very nearly motivated to go clean out and organize my supplies...maybe tomorrow...

Your craft room looks so dreamy!
I loved your dilemma with the black and white polka dots... the black and white Vs polka dot pile dilemma would've set me back hours too!!!

Yes I can see how the temp help had to go, but the rest of it is a symphony of beauty, of organisation, fancy a trip to New Zealand . . . I'll feed you!!! Rachael

Your creative world looks wonderful! So organized, so pretty, so needing-to-be-dug-through in a creative whirl! I did a very small scale freshening up of my little corner downstairs yesterday, and yes, I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning, *ready* to make something, anything.
Happy New Year to you-

Oh Karin! I am SO proud of you! You completely inspired me. I went to the Dollar Tree today and bought some plastic bins and cleaned out my make-up drawer-what a mess! I feel so much better now!

Ack, you inspire me to clean my own studio...I am in a frenzy to un-decorate too. No one to protest, and the cats will just love that all the "toys" (aka Christmas ornaments) are off the tree and within reach for a few minutes before they go back into storage. After that I feel must re-decorate the whole house, do spring cleaning, and... and...[reboot]. Oh dear, this is what happens when a girl has the next 5 days off and its MINUS 20 degrees outside. I think they call it "cabin fever"?
Happy New Year from Eileen and the Beautiful Starry Girl.

Oh please come to my studio rescue! It looks wonderful! I sit and arrange and then second guess myself and rearrange. I can't wait only 1 more day until I can safely remove the Christmas decor! :-) Then to the studio!! Hugs!

My paper organizing delima is simply, I love paper too much. I spread it all out to where I can see it all to sort it. But then I can't stop staring at it long enough to come up with a storage solution for it. I don't want to stop looking at it and lovingly caressing it. So it never gets done.
*sigh*

Ahhhh, that's all I can say. Well... no I can add perfect. My kinda cleaned up, anal organized room. Until the next project that is. Happy New Year.

Polka Dots or Black and White? Yeah, it would have thrown me too. LOL!!!! It's so good to see you Karin. I have missed you girl. I have a ledger package for you full of lovely periwinkle blue ledger paper from the 1860's. It will be perfect in your art pieces. I can't wait for you to see it. But where to put it? Ack! LOL! Love You! Jamie

I LOVE Peter Walsh...because of him, I might even attempt to clean out my closet this year...well, maybe..

Holy mackaroli look at that organization!!! I feel ashamed and quite dismayed at looking at all these photos and then over my shoulder. Every time I think I have it under control in my studio I swear to you....a hurricane blows through. I can't understand how weather can manifest itself INDOORS but believe me this studio has seen typhoons, tornadoes AND a near tsunami! My goal for the next few days is to shovel, rake, toss, label, reorganize and so on to get it back to.......well.... pre-hurricane condition. Wish me luck...I've left a trail of glitter in case I get sucked under!
You did a fantastic job!!!
XOXOXOXOXO

Wow, this all looks fabulous! I am doing the same thing, but not ready for pics yet. :0)
I did organize my linen closet, got rid of everything that wasn't pretty and after I was finished it looked so great I left the door open for two days so I could look at it and smile everytime I walked by. (and everytime I did that, my children told me I was a freak) :0)
I hope you're doing wonderful, and that 2009 brings many wonderful things for you!

What a beautiful room! I love the way you labeled everything and found pretty ways to display your playthings. I am one who needs to see everything so as not to forget it but... no matter how organised I am it stil look like to much. It overwhelms anyone who walks in and sometimes I have to admit it does me too. LOL

I need to get in my room and do some of that!
You have the most beautiful supplies, I want all the floral paper and the vintage stuff! What a pretty lot!

Your room looks beautiful! And I completely identify with the paper dilemma - b&w dots in the "dots" section or the "b&w" section - therefore I don't sort! :)
