Just busy with non blogging life. Such as two separate field trips to the zoo. We got to meet this chap over in the tortoise section. Despite the glare he's giving.....
he was very friendly. I kind of wanted to take him home.
Then you know how there's always one mom in the group who makes the kids jump off a tortoise statue for fifteen minutes until the perfect jump is captured? Well, that would be me....
This picture below is more representational of the trip with the kindergarteners. I was just like that mama duck trying to get her gaggle of ducklings to go in the right direction. However, instead of quacking, I would just have a running loop of "keep moving along....stop running....no, we are not stopping for pizza....." Although, I'm sure what they heard was "quack, quack, quack."
I thought this was the coolest picture. One of the boys in Carlos' group took it. What a great shot....
I'm still substitute teaching and also working on the class project for the Gala Auction event in June......
I pretty excited about it. It's a Claudine Hellmuth inspired piece where I took pictures of the kid's heads and then let them draw the bodies and the background.
I'm putting it on a 24x30 canvas......
I'll share some more pictures when I'm done.
Ok...I've got to run. Talk to you soon....Karin

Looks like everyone was having fun. I've got to get to the SD zoo soon. It's one of my fav places.

Missed you, Karin. You sound really busy!
Love those old tortoises. We used to ride them in the Black Hills. Truly. I am sure it wasn't very good for them!
I can't wait to see that project. It sounds so fun and I love to see what kids do. I'll bet they are excited to have their own canvas.
Sending a hug,
Suz
