I spent the day at Paper Tales making Love Birds with Jenny Hernandez of Polka Dot Pixie.....
I just adore Jenny and her amazing talent of making paperclay come to life. Now before you start heaping praise on my ability with paperclay, you need to know that all I did was paint these little feathered friends. Jenny sculpted these so we would have something to leave with. Like I said...she's pretty amazing. I still have to finish the one that I sculpted. But in the meantime, I wanted to share these pictures......
We were all loving these boxes from Hobby Lobby. They have this embossed pattern on it. Jenny said that you can find them online. I totally copied Michelle and put a wash of blue on the embossed part. But of course if I get compliments on it I will totally act if it was all my idea.
When I was taking the picture I noticed a theme in color on my mantle.......
With the exception of this vignette in the left.......
There was a whole lotta blue going on. Like this little bird art I got from Jeanne.....
My little "brothers" collage I did some time back.....
My little glitter house I got from my friend Beth....
Another little house collage I did way back when......
Hmmmm....I think the theme is blue bird houses......and trains.
Ok....off to make a Lego Alien book with Andres.....

Those bluebirds are just darling! As are all the other items on your mantel, including Thomas & Friends :)

Don't you just love the expression on their faces? What a cute pair they are and your painting is perfect. (I love Jenny) Your whole mantel looks great...Thomas and friends add a distinct touch of whimsey!
Happy Monday!

The birds are very sweet and I love that box. I hope you post the pic of the bird you did sculpt. I've never worked with paper clay before but I have seen very nice things done with it. Love the theme going on.
