Ok....here's the deal. I'm driving home from my mammogram this morning when I hear this little "humorous" blurb on Jack FM in between songs.......
"In honor of breast cancer awareness month, we're always here to lend a helping hand."
Really? No. Really? Did I just hear that. This is the second "funny" blurb I've heard from them using sexual humor in reference to breast cancer awareness month.
Ha ha ha ha.....oh, I get it. You will offer to feel womens breasts for free.....ha ha ha ha.....oh my gosh...that's so hilarious....getting a cheap feel...breast cancer awareness.....so funny....hysterical really. Man oh man where was this humor when I was going through chemo.......
Well, how about this Jack FM....How about in honor of "YOU'RE A FUCKING MORON" month, I kick you in the balls really hard. Really, really hard. And, don't ask me to "lend a helping hand" to pick you up off the ground. Because, I won't.
Ok. I feel much better now getting that off of my one breasted chest. Sexualizing anything to do with breast cancer in the name of laughs makes me even more crazy than the pink flask and the pink plastic feather pens. And, that's saying a lot. Because those stupid feather pens drive me right over the edge.
And, don't get me wrong. I'm no shrinking violet when it comes to humor. I love dark humor. But I would love to know if the person who coined that phrase and the genius who ok'd the sexual innuendo blurb would like to lend a helping hand to someone who has just been told by her doctor that she has Stage III breast cancer.....or, maybe when she has to drain all the fluids out of her drainage tubes after her breast has been removed....or, maybe when she is going through chemo and can't take her kids to school because she is so sick.
So, Jack FM......Do you want to lend a helping hand then? Or, do you want to just allude to touching boobs?
Idiots.

I hope you called the station, the FCC and whoever else you could call to complain!! Call when you get the jerk down and I'll come kick him too! Hope your day gets a LOT better!

Well that made me feel better!
Senseless people ,small minds- I would like to give them just ONE hour of Breast cancer and you would never hear them comment again.
By the way I would help you hold him down, I am a big girl and would put some weight on top of him!
Oh yea I have these great timberland boots that are like steel toe-want to borrow them?

I second what June said. Our local radio station up here is often talking about Breast Cancer Awareness and being a fan of the boob but they also do a lot to raise money to support awareness and testing. I was thinking about you the other day when I was making PINK earrings which I plan to sell Saturday at the boutique. I plan to donate the proceeds from the pink earrings to a BC charity... do you have a favorite?? It'd be cool to honor you since you went through it.

Hi, just found your blog via Pinterest and a picture of your ruffled pink Christmas trees that you posted about last year. Have read several of your posts and let me just say....I like you! I think your no holds barred say what you want is a very needed breath of fresh air. My mom is a 5 year survivor this month and while we in our little shop are doing our part as well, I too dislike the rampant commercial bits and bobs every little convenience store sells during this month. It's seems more of a way to cash in on others misfortune by peddling cheap crap in the color pink, than a true effort to find a cure. So, congrats for being real and I'll continue to read your posts.

Good for you. I'm all for seeing the funny side of things..if there is a funny side. But this so-called type of humour is both insulting and very UNfunny. Maybe we should let our views be known more often and more loudly. Blessings

You need to send a copy of this to the station. He is an insensitive@@#@$#@.
I have followed you from the beginning of your ordeal, and can't tell you how much I have admired your courage. You make me laugh a lot, and sometimes cry.
Am going to be in LA next month and am going to find Paper Tales and visit.

That's awful and in such bad taste. And I thought it was bad that they were having some beer party at the bars here to raise money... Nothing like asking for donations for one type of cancer while promoting another :P
