They said do it. It will change your life forever. I said I don't need another complication in my life. They said it won't complicate it. It will only make it easier.
They were right.
DVR entered my life on Tuesday afternoon. I was excited. Not excited enough, however, to plug the thing in. It could wait. Cosme got it going later that night. I barely gave it a passing glance. Hrmmmph. My life didn't change. The dishes still needed to be washed. Laundry was still piled high. And the living room still needed to be painted. Whatever.
Then something changed. I sat down with it and started recording things. Things I rarely get to watch...... And, probably should never watch in the first place. I started recording things I never watched and had no intention of watching. All because I could. I could watch Dr. 90210 and fast forward through the highly emotionally charged chihuahua funeral scene. I could watch Dr. Phil and just fast forward through the entire episode.
I was in heaven. DVR is not just a thing. But a part of the family. I wanted to treat him right. I didn't want him to leave me. I wanted to make sure he was happy. So, I had a hot dinner on the table for him promptly at 6:00pm
I made sure that he had hot towels after his shower
He had a place on the family portrait wall in the hallway
And, last but not least, I make sure he is tucked in bed every night. Cosme is now sleeping in the playroom.
So the moral of the story is to listen to your friends. They know what they are talking about. I have to go a pour DVR a night cap. Goodnight!
