Gifts are on their way......

Well........they are wrapped and addressed and ready to be sent to their new owners Pam, Tina and Christiane (who, by the way, won THREE drawings.)!!  The Valentine giveaway was so much fun!!!   A big thank you to everyone who stopped by!   In all the excitement, Stephanie told me that I had won over at her blog. This is what I won!!!!!  I am so excited I can hardly stand it !  I never win anything. Never.  It's very sad, I know....but this will definitely make up for it.  I have also been working on updating my links.  I was so mad.  I was adding and adding and adding.  I then went over to check the my list (that had by now quadrupled in size) on my blog.   The only new name was the first name I entered.  "How could that be!?!?!?",  I asked myself.   Well....let me tell you ....it can easily be when you don't add the links correctly and you just click the wrong button.   So, anyway, I still need to add a bunch more.  I was to tired to start over last night. 

So my assignment for the month, besides following artsymama's cabinet of curiousity prompts, is to use all the paper and stuff I currently have.  I decided that I have to use what ever I have before I can go out and get anything new.  Of course, that doesn't count the paper and stamp pads I bought at Michaels on Friday night (where the cashier proceeded to BEND my scrap book paper to make it fit in the too small bag. Bend. Bend scrapbook paper....ok, that's a whole other post on "where do they hire this people?" "along with "where is the work ethic in retail today") or the stuff I am going to buy at the scrapbok store today or the beads I am going to get with my gift certificate.  Other than THAT....I am ONLY going to use what I have.   Well I am off to the post office......See you later!

 

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!

Actually we have 3 winners.  In the frenzy of name picking, I decided to pick one extra name........I couldn't help it. It was like Las Vegas here this morning with all the excitement (well.....without the gambling....drinking....smoking... tacky clothing...or bad lounge singing.  Other than that, it was exactly like like sin city)  The boys had a lot of fun picking the names.  However, there were some glitches.  Such as Carlos wanted to pull out a boys name.  Then he wanted to know where his name was. And then he wanted to give away one of his Lego sets as a prize.  After some discussion regarding Legos not being included in the prize packet, we were finally able to start the drawing. 

Now, I have to say, the child who went through the complicated training program did not follow the rules very well.  He was under the false impression that he was to pick up all the slips of paper that he could on the first pick. Then he wouldn't put them back in the bowl. 

He then got extremely confused and thought he was supposed to pick "blocks out of the box"  instead of "names out of the bowl."   I'm sorry to say he was demoted and then subsequently fired after throwing the slips all over the living room floor.  It was an unfortunate incident. 

However the drawing continued with my back up name picker...Carlos.  He did a fine job and will probably be hired on permanently.

And Tina won a gift to be determined.....but I think it will be another pair of earrings. 

There was then much dancing and singing over the winners who were picked.   The dancing is actually still continuing as I type.  Both want to know when they can do it again.  I told them I would have to contact the temporary agency where I hired them and I may or may not be in touch.  I will, however, be in touch with the winners to get their snail mail from them to send them their gifts. 

   

All in all....THIS WAS A BLAST!   I am so happy to have "met" so many wonderful blogger and artists.  It has been so inspiring and heartwarming to see all the sharing going on.  I am very excited to continue visiting all the other blogs that I have discovered.  And I hope you all will continue to visit my little space here in blogland.

Yay!  We are getting closer to the big drawing on Friday for the sharing heARTs giveaway.   I can not believe how much fun this has been.  It's been great meeting new blog friends who have visited here, as well as, discovering some wonderfully talented bloggers at other sites.  I can't wait to add new blogs to my links.   

Well speaking of Friday's drawing ...........we have been very busy over here.  The boys have begun their intensive training on the techniques of name picking.  As you can see here, Andres is being tested on what he has learned so far.   Unfortunately, I am unable to read the results of his quiz as he can not read or write yet.  I will have to take my chances.  Carlos wasn't able to participate in the test taking as he is on the couch with a cold watching more tv than is humanly possible.

Visiting others blogs have inspired me to pull my stuff out and create.   I was following along with Artsymama's cabinet of curiousities prompts.   But instead of follow their directions, I made up my own rules for my own personal challenge. One of which was to create an Inspiration Journal to keep all my photos and clippings of inspiring pictures.   I worked on it this week in between cranky sick children and other mandatory duties.  However, I finally have it mostly completed.  On the bottom left side, the little note card says "worth noting" which I thought that was so perfect.  I used a bunch of different element on the cover of a spiral bound sketch book.  The two most difficult parts were starting it and knowing when to finish it.  It's so hard not to just keep adding things.  I am going to add a couple more ribbons on the side.  I am also working simultaenously on another journal for the boys.  That one isn't quite done.  Actually, the front is finished; but the pages are a work in progress.  I am painting them as I go along.  I have three started.  As I can see, already, it's never going to get finished at this rate.....but it's fun just experimenting.  Here are the pictures of the front and the insides.   Now, I am sure you are asking.....geeeez, doesn't this lady have any different paper to use?  She uses the same stuff on all her designs.  Well, in a word...no.  I am committed to using up the paper that I have been buying and not using.  So as tempted as I was to go out and buy a bunch of new stuff to work on these two projects, I made myself work within the parameters of what I had.  Of course, I was also restricted by the fact that I couldn't go anywhere with two sick kids!   Anyway, thanks for all the wonderful, encouraging comments.  See everyone on Friday!!!!
