I promised Donna over at Under the Red Roof and Sandy at Art Tea Life that I would use their wallpaper packs to create a project. Meaning use the original.......Meaning not copy the wallpaper and then use it........ Meaning not keep the wallpaper in its original cellophane wrapper and bring it out and fan it on the table to admire its beauty and historical significance then put it back carefully in the drawer for safekeeping after which I daydream of all the magnificent creations I would create that would have people begging me to sell to only them had I only had the guts to cut a beautiful piece of vintage paper......Meaning not that........ Of course, all these gallant promises were made before I received this in the mail..........
I got my prize from Donna yesterday. And let me tell you what a prize it is. The cuts of wallpaper are HUGE and BEAUTIFUL and simply more inspiring than words can describe (of course try as I may). She sells them over at her etsy shop. But run....don't walk because they sell like hotcakes. Also Sandy is selling packs also. She has the cutest little packs for sale. Go check it out.......
OK....now back to my problems.....I made this promise and I have to keep it. But I have this issue where I physically can't cut or tear into the paper. I have bought packs from Holly and Sandy and Jen Duncun and Heather. What I have done so far is organize them. Then reorganize them. Then look at them. And, then, reorganize them again. This is getting me absolutely nowhere in my quest to make a original piece of wallpaper art.
Oh, and for good measure, here is the pack Sandy sent me a couple weeks ago.......
Do you see what I am talking about here!?! It's still in its original package with the ribbon and little flower. So I need some help. All you veteran wallpaper artist out there...... how do you do it? How do you cut into your stash? Is it because you have so much it's easier? Or, do you finally get to the point where the newness wears out and you can finally do it. I would love to hear from you! You never know.......there just may be something in it for you.......
See you later!
