However, Las Vegas didn't want to keep it and told me to take it with me back to San Diego.......Hrmmmph.
Anyway...... Holy Moly with a of side cavier and Crystal. I leave for a week and the world goes to hell in a handbasket while I'm gone. I can not believe the injustice, corruption and flat out betrayal that has stopped this nation in its tracks. First, we have the genocide in Darfur.......then, we have the the constant terror threat lurking around every corner....... not to mention the poverty facing our nation's children..........and now, ok take a deep breath, Paris Hilton has been railroaded into a vastly unfair prison sentence that has me questioning every aspect of our justice system and wondering if I am now living in a third world country. I don't think I've seen this much suspense, drama and tears since they premiered "Roots: The Mini Series" in 1977. For the love of my sanity, if they would would just give this much press coverage to the plight of autism or cancer we would have had a cure by last Monday......
Ok.....so on to other pressing news. I just found out that my good friend may be working for Real Housewives of Orange County next season. "Why would this matter to you, Karin" you say. Well, it matters a great deal. FIRST....my dreams of instant retirement came crashing down around me like a stack of rubber stamps when I found out he was a producer for the outfit that did Deal or no Deal. So, my friend Gail and I couldn't try out. FINE. Then, he becomes a producer for American Idol. JUST GREAT. No recording contract for me anytime soon. Will the dreams ever stop being crushed. Well, guess what....it doesn't stop. Because, now, if they ever decide to do a Real Housewives of San Diego, just guess who won't be considered because she is friends with a producer.. ........UNBELIEVABLE..... Now, I have to cancel my appointments with the plastic surgeon. Take back everything I bought at Nieman Marcus. Rescind my bid for the Country Club membership. See if my old friends will hang out with me again ever since I dropped them in order to hang out with people who live in Rancho Santa Fe. And, most importantly, see if I can regain the 40 IQ points I purposely dropped to better fit into the show. Life is so unfair.
Well, at least there are some bright spots out there. Like all the swaps I'm doing. And a couple prizes I need to get out in the mail. First up.....I CAN NOT WAIT to get started on my crown for Natasha for Holly's Tiara and Crown Swap. When I found out that we were swap partners I was so excited. Her artwork is so fabulous. She designs her own papers. It's outstanding. If you haven't checked her out, please click on over to see her work. You will not be disappointed. We are actually adding on to our swap and doing a "kid swap". We are going to trade kids for the summer....... Hee hee.... just kidding! We are sending things to each other's kids from our respective countries.
Then, I need to work on my Romancing the Past pages I am doing with Dawn over at Artist Reborn. Again, another fabulous artist......
Then, I am getting my 9 x 12 canvas ready for Jenny Holiday's Bit's and Pieces swap. I am paired with Heather at Pretty Petals. I am loving this project. I bought my canvas before I even left for vacation.
And, last, but certainly not least, I am going to get the Tags out to Michelle and Malady. They are coming!!!
Ok...So much work....so little time....off to find the plastic surgeon's number and cancel that breast augmentation..........
